[Markus] what is the basic idea behind it ?
[LadySim] You should do magick with an open mind, and you should try to be peacful
[Markus] look for another word for "peaceful"
[LadySim] bring harmony to yourself at all times
Markus nods... some say symmetry, Tradcrafters use a simple term
[Markus] Balance
[LadySim] I see, so we should balance our emotions?
Markus nods...harmony with external And internal environments
[Markus] so what happens if you don't have balance in your magick working Sim?
[LadySim] It can backfire, like a flame in your face. You risk danger...
[Markus] remember you are working with natural energies... the flame could happen ,but is a bit extreme... what type of danger is risked?
[LadySim] you can bring negative energy?
Markus nods... not all "back fires" are physical...people who don't believe in magick don't see this
[Markus] you understand WHY you need balance... so how do you keep and maintain balance?
[Markus] ok... how would You say... calm yourself down after a fight with your friend?
[LadySim] I think it over... I see the good points... I think things through.
Markus nods... good, do you do that while you run around the block? or what?
[LadySim] No, I sit down and think about it... maybe a hot bath
Markus smiles... exactly
[Markus] for mental and emotional relaxation, you also must have Physical relaxation
[LadySim] ok I see
[Markus] If your body is wired... so is your mind. At times it is not enough to just sit down. I have had many times where I was so
frustrated or upset I could not relax. I had to relieve tension (hopefully in a non-destructive manor).
A method both Lady Ashlynn and I advocate (and use once and a while) is the pillow to couch Beat Down.
... it works. Just take a pillow, tie a handle in the case and beat All hades out of the couch. What happens is
the Adrenaline in your blood is trapped, some think if they relax it disipates. Nope.
it is pent up energy... and cannot just filter out, it must be burnt off somehow. Until then... you will remain wired. After that
the sit down, bath, or meditation are all effective ways...providing they are away from imeditate distraction.
[Markus] Ok, we've talked about negative feelings, and the effects. What can you now tell me about positive ones?
[LadySim] With the positive ones...we should use those for magick?
[Markus] Is a mind full of love and nothing else balanced?
[LadySim] No, we need both good and bad to balance out.
[Markus] excellent...good and bad emotions cause distractions
Markus smiles... some would claim it easier to just Ignore the emotions
[Markus] hehehehehehe
[Markus] have you ever tried to ignore emotions?
[LadySim] Yes, and it only made things worse
Markus nods... yep, just piles up, and then....BAM! they hit: usually at the worst
possible time... not fun
[LadySim] So now what?
[Markus] So the idea (and purpose of this) is to understand... balance of emotion is necessary (not ignoring them), and to have balance you need to think about them, and to think about them you need to relax
[Markus] You tell me what's next... I've talked your ears off already
[LadySim] So now I must work on balancing my emotions, rather than pushing them off to the side
Markus nods... there are many possible ways to balance them.... but first you must accept them
[LadySim] First I beat up my couch, then I go take a hot bath
