Well, it doesn't necessarily state "woman" but "witch" -- non-gender specific. But it runs right along with Christian history to destroy anything that opposes it. Witches were, for the most part, leaders of the pagan country communities. One of the easiest ways to break down a group is take out the leader. The next few verses exemplify a large principle of the Old Testament: Exodus 22(20) "He that sacrificeth unto Any god, save unto the Lord only, shall be utterly destroyed." It's a hard reality, but Christians are hardly the first ones to adopt these principles.

It's just an extra sac. His covered his head and was filled with fluid. If he had been born with it attached he could have drowned in the fluids.

Ahhhh... I do recall hearing some information about that. Apparently, if I remember correctly, Jesus was born with the same type of extra membrane. It is said that those who are likewise born are "closer to Jesus" (words of my neighbor and close friend, born-again Christian)
