[Markus, Hope you enjoyed it! (*wishing I had more time outside other than walking to class*) [There is one thing I have been trying to no avail though. In mass on Sundays I have been focusing on the candles on the altar. Try as I may, there is no movement, no flicker, nothing. Don't know why. The concentration seems to be there. Could it be the fact that I do not face east. I read that in one of the books I was reading. To do good face east and bad west.] HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! *mirth subsiding* I'm not laughing at you, hun... but at whoever wrote that article/book about facing East being good, and West being bad! So if one ever gets into a magickal battle, they should take the effort to circle around their opponent just so they are facing east?! and of course the opponent would be doing that as well, so instead of getting anything done they'd just spend their time spinning in circles! Would look more like they were dancing a jig! *hahaha* as for the candles on the altar... concentration is key, but has little to do with it if the practice is not there. I have trouble shifting a candle more than a meter away as yet. I'm saying this assuming you were in one of the pews (sp?) and not right up on the altar with the candles. Practice, and in time you will be able to do it... Now, I caution you against BS answers... if you told this to another Catholic they'd say something like : It's because it is consecrated ground and you are doing the Devil's work, which is absolute BS, so I don't want you to get ideas like that on your own either. :) [Further, I have been doing more reading and seems that in Mexico, a highly Catholic region, they are believers of Magick. Mostly from ancient Indians, but believers none the less!] aye!!! It is truly only the warlike-Europe that has declared war on anything they do not agree with! (and then of course it spreads to those that move across the oceans, but is still a largely Euro-Christian mindset) If you ventured to India and other non-Euro countries, you will find folks that also believe in the Crafts for their countries, and even in the country lands of Europe there are folks who still follow witch-like medicine paths and believe in tree spirits and such. You should try Frazer's "The Golden Bough" great book and much history of Craft in it!!! [Another finding, In the Bible, Book Of John, I believe, there is something about good and evil being within. In ourselves, not in the world. A man made event. This I have also found a lot in my readings.] aye... I find that only humans stand above nature enough to attempt to classify themselves as "good' or "evil"... I've never heard a person of any credibility declare the lioness evil for killing a zebra. But I've never heard of a Hanable Lecter Lioness either. [One more silly thing, I have a Saint Christopher medal in a vehicles I drive. I'm very faithful to this self made tradition. One time when I was driving home from work, "BAM" or should have been, only Saint Christopher could have saved me from this. Is this faith not a form of the craft?] Yes, it is very much a form of Craft!! Very good!!! before I add more to this I'd like to hear some elaboration of your ideas on it! [Thanks again for your time! I consider you as a form of teacher and all you have to tell is greatly appreciated.] If I didn't think it was appreciated I would have dropped it a long time
