Lost Hope

Lost Hope

Lost Hope She wandered around the slums, as the sun rose. A small girl of 15, or so it appeared. Her hair was deep, deep black. Her eyes were a strange shade of blue. She had pale skin, very nearly white, and unblemished. She wandered around the slums. She started to sing, softly at first. The song was low and mournful. Her song grew in volume as she wandered. She sang of children dying and their mothers living into old age. She sang of war and the widows and orphans He left behind. She sang of Harsh winters and Starvation. She sang of Scorching Summers and Drought. She sang of debilitating disease. She sang of the deaths of good kings and the rise of tyrants. She sang of the Death of Dreams, and the life afterwards. She sang of Life and all that may go wrong. She sang of lovers who proved False. She sang of Marred Beauty and her Attendants. She sang of Youth and Old Age. She sang on. She sang of Falsely accused Lovers and Separation. She sang. Darkness began to fall. She sang until the sun Faded Her life Faded as did the Sun.
