Mortality, Part Two

Mortality, Part Two

Screaming children in an instant
are silenced
by Thanatos himself.

The screams are replaced by the
agony of tears
the flowing of pain is
magnified and magnified again

twisted metal and flesh.
Mourning them, "Mom" and "Dad"
Are they mourning their children's smiles
or are they mourning their lost genes?
