About the Project

copyright 1998, E. Boucher

This particular piece was made as a gift. However, I decided to enter it into the 1998 A&S fairs. While I scored well enough to advance to Kingdom, I did not get an opportunity to attend that event. I was vastly disappointed. That all the work and the research might not be lost--and that I might learn from any who might like to make comments via E-mail--I decided to upload the whole shebang here.

Calligraphy Documentation
Illumination Documentation

Both sets of documents contain references to attached pages. In the interest of not violating copyright law, I have chosen not scan anything from books to accompany the documentation. However, I have attached the receipts as a small quotation file here. To allow you to see some of the details that don't show well in the scan, I have provided some details below. Sadly, I have not yet figured out how to get a good scan on a piece with so much metal on the page.

And lastly, the bibliography.

Because this was all one project separated into three of the many components, I just attached the same bibliography to all three pieces. In order to do this page, I studied all the books, and I did not think it possible to separate some books for calligraphy and some books for technique and some books for illumination, et cetera. The whole thing is entwined.
