----- Back to the beginning -----
"Sorry I got lost in thought. It was unfamiliar territory."
"Those who live by the sword get shot by those who don't."
"I feel like I'm diagonally parked in a parallel universe."
"I wonder how much deeper would the ocean be without sponges."
"Despite the cost of living, have you noticed how it remains so popular?"
"Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool."
"Blessed are the censors, for they shall inhibit the Earth."
"Save the whales. Collect the whole set."
"On the other hand....you have different fingers."
"Eagles may fly, but weasels aren't sucked into jets."
"I can see clearly now, the brain is gone..."
"The beatings will continue until morale improves."
"I used up all my sick days, so I'm calling in dead."
"Mental Floss prevents Moral Decay."
"Madness takes its toll. Please have exact change."
"Diplomacy: the art of letting someone have your way."
"Help Wanted: Telepath. You know where to apply."
"Copywight 1994 Elmer Fudd. All wights wesewved."
"Headline: Bear takes over Disneyland in Pooh D'Etat!"
"What has four legs and one arm? A happy pit bull."
After awhile you learn
the subtle difference between
holding a hand and chaining a soul
and you learn that love doesn't mean possession
and company doesn't mean security.
And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts
and presents aren't promises and you begin to accept
your defeats with your head up and your eyes ahead
with the grace of an adult not the grief of a child.
And you learn to build your roads today
because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plans
and futures have ways of falling down in mid-flight.
After awhile you learn that even sunshine
burns if you get too much so you plant your
own garden and decorate your own soul
instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure
that you really are strong
and you really do have worth
and you learn
and you learn...
There once was an old man from Esser,
Who's knowledge grew lesser and lesser,
It at last grew so small,
He knew nothing at all,
And now he's a college professer.
