Shanmugha College Of Engineering is one of the premier (at present No.1) colleges of Tamilnadu, India. It is located on the lush Trichy-Tanjore road, at Thirumalaisamudram, Thanjavur, Tamilnadu, India. The Institute imparts knowledge at both Engineering and Polytechnic level. It houses more than 4000 students, at both levels, every year.

Started in 1984 as a private college with just 3 Engineering branches it has attained a name for itself as a centre, nurturing, fostering and developing - body, mind and spirit of its alumni, before sending them at the end of the course of study as rounded personalities. The students are good engineers, good persons and good citizens. No wonder Shanmugha has carved for itself a secure niche in the temple of technological learning in Bharat.
The students come from all parts of the country, representing truly the spirit of National Integration.
Blessed by the Venerable Acharyas of Kanchi and ever under the divine guidance of their (our) presiding deity enshrined in his palladium at the entrance of the college the campus has an ambience, different from others of its kind.
The college strives for excellence, in teaching and studies; seek to bring out the best in their alumni; find out ways and means to place their charges in the best jobs in the campus through their Training & Placement Department.
Shanmugha College of Engineering offers 8 UG programmes and 4 PG programmes with laboratories fully equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, well stocked library and one of the best Computer centres.
The college is affliated to Bharthidasan University , Trichy.

The Undergraduate Engg. Courses Offered are :

1. B.E. Civil Engineering
2. B.E. Mechanical Engineering (Mech)
3. B.E. Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE)
4. B.E. Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE)
5. B.E. Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering (EIE)
6. B.E. Computer Science Engineering (Comp Sc)
7. B.Tech. Chemical Engineering (Chem)
8. B.Tech. Information Technology (IT)

The Postgraduate Courses Offered are :

M.E. Power Electronics & Drives
M.E. Thermal Plant Engineering
M.C.A. Master of Computer Application
M.B.A. Master of Business Administration

All these UG and PG programmes have been approved by AICTE, New Delhi and affliated to the Bharthidasan University, Tiruchirapalli.
Proposals for the following UG and PG programmes are under the active consideration of AICTE/University and are likely to be offered in the near future:
Undergraduate Courses:
1. B.E. Mechatronics
2. B.E. Autotronics
3. B.E. Electromechanical Engineering.
Postgraduate Courses:
1. M.E. Process Dynamics and Control
2. M.E. Environmental Engineering 3. M.E. Project Management ( In Collaboration with M/s Siemens Ltd., a Multinational Company)
4. M.Sc. Opeations Research & Computer Applications

Hi, Check out the Recent Activities - that is going on at the SCE Campus. The college has attained the autonomous status.
