Read a little bit about our fundraiser:

"The 1997 Mr. Class Pageant."

For our class fundraiser, Class elected to perform a dinner-variety show for the brothers and our friends. We decided to put a spin on the event, and make it a little more interactive by turning the whole thing into a talent show.

After a dinner consisting of stuffed shells, spaghetti, salad, ice cream, coffee and punch, the lights dimmed, and the members of Class spread out through the auditorium in preparation of our opening number, a step show we wrote to the song "You Can Call Me Al," by Paul Simon.

Then, after a brief "Thank You" speech, our Masters of Ceremonies, Scott and Elaine, came onto the stage to introduce the main part of our entertainment, the talents, which consisted of a diverse variety of mini-roles played by the members of our class. Dani ("Mr. Puppeteer") & Hutch (the puppet) started off by dueling for control of a ventriloquism act. Jen Miller, donning thick glasses and geek-attire portrayed a very convincing "Mr. Nerd," while Rachel Goldenberg fit her "Valley Girl" role to a perfect tee. "Mr. Hippie," Steph Ryerson, lip synched to "Blowin' in the Wind," while Steve Peckham, "Mr. Drag Queen," and Tom Wall (clad in coconut bra and flowered skirt) goofed off noticably in the background.

Next up, Steve, clothed in a pink frilly tutu, stepped out onto the stage to perform a rousing rendition of "Son of A Preacher Man," backed by his "hoes," Greg, Tom, and Scott. Suzanne Smith, "Mr. Lush" wobbled out onto the stage carrying a bottle of Absolut Vodka, which, as she proceeded to point out, was conspicuously missing an "e." And no one present that night could ever forget Greg's simmering offer to "Ride the bologna pony," or Sarah Hyman's startling portrayal of an uppity snob with a violin. The talent section of the fundraiser concluded with Regina Rushford's hot performance of "Fever," which she sung to Theta Beta Chapter President Mark Malmquist, while attempting to "seduce" him (to no avail.)
