"the kids all say grown-ups are strange
and aren't they
they teach their kids not to do as i do....but....as i say
they cry for peace
and then make war
and wonder what we're fighting for
oh, aint it funny....now and then......"

you know...i've read around...apparently i'm not doing this weblog thing right. the rules appear to be:

interesting commentary, but not life stories unless you have a super interesting life
brevity

uh....can i ask who made the rules?

so here's my interesting comment for today. apparently some dude claimed the moon and is selling shares of it or land on it or something. don't take this for absolute truth, because i only half-way paid attention to the radio mention. i guess he wrote some national leaders in the u.n. claiming the moon and no one protested, so he began selling land on the moon at i believe $14 a share.

i was talking to the neighbor about it last night and we decided that either this guy is a genius or an idiot.

considering the fact that there is no law governing the moon and the price is so cheap i wonder if we are all fools not to get in on this deal. granted that the way new land is claimed has traditionally been planting a flag on it or travelling to it and claiming it in the name of your monarch or country....and there are flags on the moon from the u.s. and russia.....i figure that it all comes down to the bigger bully in the end. deciding the ownership of the moon in the future will likely involve some sort of shoot-out between the governments that desire it and the army of people who have papers on their $14 shares....i find this quite interesting. our laws don't apply to the moon and we could one day have a laser gun version of the old west going down.....who's our inter-galactic wyatt earp gonna be?

twice now in the last month i've heard political leaders say it. the most recent comment about it was yesterday.

regarding the british blockade of fuel sources, one of their government officials commented that they were sticking by their tax and would not back down to "illegal" pressure....he said this was not the kind of pressure a government wants to fold under.

the earlier mention was from new york.....the people protesting at the republican convention were trouble-makers......their "behavior" was absolutely abominable and would not be taken lightly:

tell it to the folks at the boston tea party, i say. perhaps our politicians have lost sight of who they are serving....are they serving a book of words, so concrete that they are immune to a little thing called the constituency. or are they in place to seek the contentment of the people. it's a sad fact when so many sit back and take what ever the "leaders" dish out and anyone who stands up to make their voice heard is part of the rabble.
