MAT 439 : Regression and Analysis of Variance

Regression analysis provides scientists with an equation which describes the relationship between quantitative statistical variables. Such relationships are important in all areas of experimental sciences. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) is a related area of statistics that consists of a broad class of techniques for identifying and measuring the various sources of variation within a collection of observations. This course is a solid course in regression analysis and the analysis of variance covering such topics as linear and nonlinear regression, multiple regression, variance within and between groups, maximum likelihood tests, one- and two-factor designs, non-central distributions, iterated tests of the equality of means, multiple comparison tests, and other related topics. Prerequisite MAT 228.
