Dear editor
My name is Doron Kanaan and I am from Israel I think that it is very obvious that
Maradona is the best ever.
Pele was, perhaps, the best in his time, but Maradona dealt with much tougher
diffences, and did much tougher tricks that everyone enjoy. MARADONA was the only
player ever to win a worldcup, all the other worldcups were won by teams.
Pele didnt win a world cup, they(Brazil) didnt even need him, in 1958 he came in as a
substitute when they led 3-1 and scored twice, he was hardly essencial.
in 1962 he played one game in the first round and got injured. Hardly a world cup
winner. 1966 was the first and only time Brazil needed him, and flew back to rio after
the first round.In 1970 it was a different story, not only did brazil have
a great teams with great players, but other countries didnt
have teams that could match them. Another myth about pele, is that he scored more
than 1200 goals in his career, but when you check the matches most of his goals
were scored, you will find that they were scored in small tournaments
in Brazil such as the paris cup and others. he scored most of his
goals against unproffesional teams and players.
In conclusion, another thing, why did pele never go to play in Europe? my guess is that
he was affraid the myth will end, once everyone will see that he is just another
player, not a god, like Maradona.
