LICHER GERMAN OPEN 1998
Round 2: Defeated Yevgeny Kafelnikov.....6-4, 6-2
Q: What do you have to say about the match?
Muster: He missed a lot of shots, but I have seen that before. He plays very flat and that is difficult with the heavy balls. I was more patient than him. I am playing more aggressive now than in the last weeks and feel more comfortable. I am fit; physically I was ready for three sets.
Q: How was it to play under the roof?
Muster: It has the advantage that it does not matter if it rains or not. It is definitely nice to know you can play. It helps the tournament, because you are ensured to have TV coverage avery day.
Q: Do you enjoy playing tennis again?
Muster: I was injured a lot, but now I am fit and had a good preparation, so I enjoyed it.
Q: Is the French Open a special incentive?
Muster: The French Open gives me most pleasure to play, it is always a goal. I had the nicest day in my life there. But I am always motivated when I play.
Q: Are you still doing the same hard routine as 4 or 5 years ago?
Muster: Yes, this is the only way I know. But it's hard to do it when you are injured. I am not preparing for retirement. If my body allows me I will continue to play for 3 or 4 years though mybe not in the Top 5 or 10. But I can still beat top players. I don't see reasons to stop playing.
