DAVE'S POSTGAME ANALYSIS

About a month ago, we were beaten by Cleveland State and Detroit on the road, had an 8-7 record and a 1-2 conference mark. Our rankings were their lowest of the season, and we appeared to be going nowhere fast. What a difference a month makes. Since then, we've reeled off 8 straight wins (7 over conference opponents) and sit atop the conference with a 16-7 (8-2 MCC) record. After a hard-fought battle with Detroit on Thursday, the stage was set for a first place showdown with Cleveland State. Things looked promising early as Butler jumped to a 20-6 lead. But the Vikings rallied, and fought back into the game. The Butler lead was 7 at halftime. The second half, however, belonged to the Bulldogs. Once again coupling stifling defense with a deliberate offense, Butler outscored CSU 42-22 in the final 20 minutes and crusied into sole possession of first place. This game marked tranfer Scott Robisch's best effort as a Bulldog. Robisch finished with a game high 18 points, and pulled down 8 rebounds. Mike Marshall had a double-double, with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Thomas Jackson was solid once again, with 11 points and 7 assists. LaVall Jordan added 10 points. Andrew Graves once again provided a spark off the bench, with 10 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals in 27 minutes.

The Bulldogs hit the road for the final time in the regular season this week when they travel to Wisconsin for a 2 game set. The first of these is against Wisconsin-Milwaukee on Thursday, February 17 at 8:00 pm EST.
