Despite the final score, there were still some weak spots in the Butler game. MSM center Konata Springer had his way inside in the second half. He scored 14 of his 16 points in the final period, exposing our lack of height inside. Not to take anything away from Marshall, but he can only do so much. MSM extended their defense in the second half, playing a half court trap. Our guards looked scared, and instead of attacking the press, retreated into a corner. And our free throw shooting was horrid, 11-21 for the game. It's not often that you shoot better from the field AND 3-point range than you do from the line.
The Bulldogs look to make it 2 in a row at Hinkle when in-state rival Indiana State invades the Fieldhouse on Wednesday, December 1 at 7:00 pm. Hope to see you there.
