DAVE'S POSTGAME ANALYSIS

You expect to see the Rashad Phillips show when you play Detroit, and fans that tuned in Saturday weren't shortchanged. 'shad buried seven 3-pointers en route to a 29 point performance as the Titans avenged last year's home loss to the Bulldogs. Another road performance to forget for Butler. 35% shooting from the field doomed us from the outset, and not having LaVall Jordan healthy only compounded the problem. We played without much intensity until late in the second half when UDM played their scrubs. We quickly wiped out a good portion of their 20+ point lead before they re-inserted the starters. I can only wonder if the outcome might have been different had we showed that intensity for 40 minutes instead of 5. Joel Cornette had a fantastic game, leading the way with 18 points and 9 rebounds. We did well on the boards, outrebounding the Titans 37-26, including a 20-2 edge on the offensive glass. Plain and simple, the difference was Phillips. Definitely the MCC Player of the Year in my book.

Yet again the Bulldogs will come limping back to Hinkle, looking to erase the memories of a poor road trip. Hopefully a 3-game home stand will be just what the doctor ordered. First up is Wisconsin-Green Bay on Thursday at 7:00. Hope to see you there.
