DAVE'S POSTGAME ANALYSIS

Hinkle Fieldhouse continues to treat the home team well. I missed the first half of the game, so I can't give full commentary, but we didn't look too bad. At one point Nevada trimmed the lead down into single digits, but the Bulldogs tightened up the defense and pushed it back out to 20. Scott Robisch looked okay in his Butler debut, with 5 points, 2 rebounds and a block in 17 minutes. He looked like he had some nice moves in the post, and spent a lot of time on the perimeter as well, so hopefully he can open up opposing defenses. LaVall Jordan led a balanced Butler attack with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Backcourt-mate Thomas Jackson had 11 points and 7 rebounds. Joel Cornette had 11 points, and fellow St. X. alum Mike Marshall added 10 points and 7 rebounds.

The next 8 days will tell us a lot about how much the Bulldogs have matured. During that time, they will have 4 chances to pick up their first road victory of the season. The first chance is against TCU on Monday, December 27. Game time is at 8:00 pm EST. My college roommate Dan, who is going to vet school at Texas A&M, will be in attendance, so if you see him be sure to tell him Dave says hello...
