DAVE'S POSTGAME ANALYSIS

We finally got our first real test at home. Fortunately we passed, but it definitely wasn't with an A. Yet another poor job of defending the perimeter nearly cost the Bulldogs as Wisconsin-Milwaukee's long range bombers sank 13 shots from downtown. UWM even led at one point in the second half, but the Dawgs scrapped their way back in and escaped with a 72-64 victory. LaVall Jordan appears to be back to 100% after an ankle injury, leading the way with 21 points on 9-13 shooting. He also dished out 5 assists. Backcourt mate Thomas Jackson had his first career double-double, with 14 points and 10 rebounds, to go along with 5 assists. Mike Marshall added 12 points (including 6-6 from the free throw line) and 5 rebounds. Andrew Graves pulled down 5 rebounds, and provided the nail for UWM's coffin. Trailing by just 6, the Panthers attempted to pass over our defense, but Drew managed to tip it away. Jackson then hit 2 free throws to seal it.

We simply HAVE to do a better job of defending the 3-point shot. Ball State, Detroit, Green Bay, and Milwaukee have all murdered us from outside so far, and we don't appear to be making the necessary adjustments. If the latter 2 games are played on the road instead of Hinkle, we don't win.

The 3-game home stand comes to an end Monday the 24th when IUPUI comes to Hinkle for Indy's version of the crosstown shootout. Game time is 7:00 pm. Hope to see you there.
