DAVE'S POSTGAME ANALYSIS

PLAYER OF THE GAME: Brandon Polk. Polk had 12 first-half points and a team-high 16 for the game.

Three other Bulldogs joined Polk in double figures. Bruce Horan had 13 points, while Avery Sheets and A. J. Graves added 10 points each. Brandon Crone had five points and five rebounds. Julian Betko and Marcus Nellems had two points apiece in their Bulldog debuts, and Brian Ligon finished with one point. UNCW was led by John Goldsberry's 21 points, eight assists, and seven rebounds.

I was unable to catch the game, so I can't comment much beyond the box score. Three things jump out: UNCW shot 55% for the game, outrebounded Butler 32-20, and forced 15 Bulldog turnovers.

Butler will meet Alabama State in the loser's bracket. Game time is Monday, November 14, at 2:00 p.m. EST.
