Here are the campdates for the Camps!

Dear Parents and Students:
I hope your summer break has gotten off to a great start. The Mayfield High School band
enjoyed a very successful spring season with excellent performances in Colorado Springs. The
Symphonic Band placed third and the Symphonic Wind Ensemble won the competition. I would like to thank all of the upperclassmen for
such an outstanding experience and welcome all the freshman to one of the truly excellent band
programs in our state. Welcome!
Plans are well underway for next years marching season. Most of you should have received music prior to summer break for the entire show.
Percussionist will receive their music later this summer. The opener, entitled "Huapango" is a very exciting Classical Spanish work by
the composer Moncayo. The other pieces that will finish out the show are from "La Fiesta Mexicana". I think that all involved
will enjoy the music. Of course the more work you do on the music this summer, the easier your work will be in the fall.
We will begin with "Huapango", so please make that your top priority.
We have condensed band camp into one week this year to give you a longer summer break. However, in order to achieve what we need accomplished prior to
school year the hours have been extended. I have inclosed a detailed schedule of the camp. It is extremely important that all members attend camp. Please
arrange your plans and work schedules to accommodate the camp. The fee for camp is $15.
Also included in this is a band calendar. Please mark these dates on your calendars so that conflicts can be minimized.
I am extremely excited about the upcoming fall. I look forward to continuing the Mayfield High School tradition of excellence! Have a great summer!
