Edmund Pevensie

Edmund Pevensie is the second son and third of four children of Mr. and Mrs. Pevensie.

In LWW, He is unfortunately known as a traitor but then later as King Edmund The Just during the Golden Age Of Narnia. He was a jealous, difficult 10-year-old who later became a handsome and brave 24-year-old king in HHB. He was 19 when he was killed in the railway accident in LB.

Edmund was a kind child until he started his education in a miserable school which effected him terribly. He always struggled with his older brother Peter and his sister Susan. It is Lucy that he liked the most. LWW is the story of his treachery and his redemption. He was the only one of the four sibblings not to get a gift from Aslan (handed out by Father Christmas) because he was lured into the control of the White Witch due to his greed for more Turkish Delight. His most terrible act is to deny that he went with Lucy through the wardrobe and on into Narnia, letting her down terribly.

Edmund feels a terrible horror while arriving at the White Witch's castle where he sees a stone lion in her courtyard, but he still is treacherous by disfiguring the statue. When the White Witch finally shows her true colours by showing Edmund the Stone Table, this is where he begins to have a change of heart. Edmund wants to be the loving brother that he once was before his school years.

Aslan soon frees Edmund and has a talk with him. This soon begins his reintroduction with his sibblings. Even though the White Witch calls him a traitor he is firm on keeping his eyes on Aslan. Edmund breaks the White Witch's wand and later in battle he is wounded. Lucy heals him with her cordial and he is rejuvenated to the point of being a graver and quieter man than Peter.

In PC, Edmund is the second to feel the tug into Narnia when Caspian blows Susan's horn. Compared to his first visit, he is glad to be back in Narnia. He sides with Lucy when asked if they should follow her because he remembers his betrayal of her in LWW. Aslan later greets him with a hearty, "Well done."

In HHB, Edmund puts his hands on Shasta's head and assures him that he is not a traitor for overhearing their plans of going to Tashbaan.

In VDT, Edmund is trying hard to get along with his cousin Eustace who is a brat, however, after Aslan frees Eustace from being a terrible person, Edmund is able to empathize with Eustace knowing first-hand what it is like to be a forgiven and changed person.

In LB, Edmund is introduced as, "one of the Seven Friends of Narnia" by Peter who is talking to Tirian. When Aslan tells Edmund (and procession) that they don't have to return to England, it is Edmund who recognizes in Aslan the one whom he has gotten to know by his earthly name.
