Here's some games and stuff I've written. You'll need either winzip or pkzip to unzip them. Once you've unzipped one, read the readme.txt to see how to install and play. They're all free, but I would really appreciate an e-mail to say you've downloaded something, and you liked/hated it. Oh, and as far as I know, they should work fine, but you can't hold me responsible if anything goes wrong with your computer. Just the standard disclaimer :-) Most of these are for DOS, but should work under Windows. Source code is available on request :-)

The New Win95 Cookie Monster!

This is a greatly (very greatly) improved version of the Cookie Monster below. It's for Windows 95, should work on 98, and maybe NT and 2000 (I haven't tested this, though). It's fully customisable - you can set it to display your favourite picture, and you can create your own quotes file for it to use (it comes a file containing quotes from Winnie-the-Pooh and House at Pooh Corner by A.A. Milne). There are three different ways to download it:

To install, unzip the file you've downloaded and run setup.exe

The Cookie Monster (30 Kb)
This is a cool little program written by my boyfriend, Dave, and I. Basically, you provide it with a file of quotations, put it in your autoexec.bat or startup folder, and each time you switch on your computer it'll pick a random quote from your file for you. It comes with a file of quotes from Winnie the Pooh.

Pong! (1 Mb)
This one was written purely by Dave. I'm sure you know what pong is, but just in case: it's a game where you bounce a ball between your bat and the computer's, and you each try to make the other one miss - sorta like 2D tennis :-) This version has sound effects, music, single player mode, various game lengths and difficulty levels, and much more.

TrayRacer (399 Kb)
This was our second year Computer Science Project. Basically, it's a ray-tracer with non-planar projection. You set up a file with all your objects, and use the command-line interface to set various options, like gouraud shading, resolution, etc. It contains a copy of our report, which also explains how to set up your file and all that. There's a text version of the report, without pictures, and a WordPerfect version, with pictures.

Noughts & Crosses (344 Kb)
This one I did all on my own. Well, with the help of the games library Allegro. It's a two-player game, with the slight innovation that each player can draw to their heart's content within their block during their turn, instead of sticking to plain old O's and X's. Also with optional music and sound.

Bob (518 Kb)
This one I'm almost embarrased to put up :-) It's the very first thing I wrote using the Allegro library, and it's really simple. Click somewhere on the screen, and Bob will come running. That's all :-)
