There must be a million places out on the World Wide Web to talk to people! I have a few favorites, but I have also included a few I have seen, but never really chatted at. Because of this, I cannot vouch for their friendliness, or the conduct of the chatters in all the areas listed! There are a few strange people out there, but I have made some very wonderful friends as well!



By far, my absolutely favorite place to chat is Parent's Place. This site is dedicated to parents and requires a registration, which is free. They also have fantastic bulletin boards on almost every subject you can think of. If you are a parent or a parent-to-be, check it out! You won't be sorry!

One program I do use whenever I have the opportunity is ICQ. It requires you download the software, but it's well worth it!



Another place I can be found is on Powwow. This is a powerful chat program that has many great features. If you haven't downloaded the program, go to the site. It's easy and it's a fun way to talk with people from all over. Tribal Voice has added a Kids version of Powwow, but I am not as familiar with that.



I was using IRC periodically, but found I didn't much care for it, but there certainly are alot of people who would disagree...it's pretty popular! This also requires a program download, but once online, you have access to literally thousands of channels of chatters. Beware, many of these are unsuitable for children and kids should be monitored closely when using IRC.
