Captain Thomas Patterson's Co., 9th Regt., Virginia Militia. He has lately been drafted into the service of the Confederate States under the proclamation of the Govenor, calling out the military forces from the county and that he is incapable of performing military duty consequence of bodily infirmity of a permanent character arising from disease of the kidneys and enlarged prostate gland. March 12, 1862
