Hettie worked several jobs in her lifetime. Lynchburg Hosery Mill, Howard Johnson's Restaurant and for a period of time, Harvey's Store which was located at the fork in the road at Fort Avenue. Route 460 (Timberlake Road) and 29 South (Ward's Road). They lived in the back part of the store at this time.
