   Trees for Fall Color

Maples: are one of the most economical of shade trees. They are fast growing and offer a wide range of height and color. From the small varieities of the Japenese maple <15 feet> to the largest Silver Maple (80 feet) it is easy to find one that suits your surroundings.
Hybridnizing of the maple species has brought us wonderful fall coloring from them.
Some that you may want to look for are the "Lagacy" a fast growing sugar maple with shades of red, pink, orange and yellow in the fall. "Red Sunset" a rubrum maple an excellant street tree with bright red fall foliage. "Autumn Blaze" which carries the best features of the rubrum and silver maple. Fast growing with attractive orange-red to reddish purple fall color. And of course there is the "Royal Red" an improved crimson king with dark red leaves all summer.

Gingko: gingko biloba commonly referred to as the maidenhair. An excellant street tree with unusual fan shaped leaves. Resistant to disease and smoke. Gingkos can reach an height of 60 ft.

Dogwood: is thought of as a spring beauty, but is also colorful in the fall. Leaves turn a orangy-red to a reddish purple. Small in stature, but big in variety this is a nice choice for partial to full shade. Besides the native white, this tree is now available in red and pink blooming specimans.
