Nursing a Toddler

Why I Still Nurse My Toddler

My son Matthew just turned two 9/3/97 and still nurses throughout the day (depending on how busy we are and how much time we spend at home) and to get to sleep at naptime and bedtime. He also nurses whenever he wakes up during the night, which doesn't pose a problem since I sleep in his bed with him. (Luckily, I have a very supportive husband who says he doesn't mind me not sleeping in bed with him, although we do get to spend some "quailty" time together after Matthew falls asleep!!) Everyone I know personally doesn't understand this, especially the part about nursing to sleep and during the night. I think that these people are missing out on the most wonderful time & bond of life! I have been happier than I ever imagined I could be since Matthew was born, and everyone comments on how happy and smart he is! I don't plan on weaning him until he is ready, although I might TRY some "gentle" weaning techniques when I become pregnant again.
