Junior Troop 704 --------------------------

Traveling Mascot - Candy Kisses

June & July '96
Candy Kisses is the name of our mascot and she is a dog. Candy started her travels with a troop from Shady Side MD in June of 96. Candy went camping with Linda's troop and had a wonderful time. In July Linda's troop sent Candy on to Amy's troop in Edison NH where she was included in a Fashion Show with a mascot from another troop. I think both mascots learned a little bit about fashion that day. Amy has sent Candy on her way to Skokie IL where she will be for the month of August.

August & September
Candy visited with Patty's troop in IL for August and part of September. There Candy got to meet their mascot the river otter and worked with her at a meeting to earns some pins for her backpack. Candy is now on her way to Pauline's troop in St. Louis MO. Our troop is currently hosting Ali who is Pauline's troops mascot.

Candy was delayed in the mail for awhile - she wasn't lost really she was just between destinations for 2 weeks! Candy is now visiting Pauline's troop in St. Louis MO and she is going camping with them. I know she will just love her camping experience.

October
Candy is sad that her visit in St. Louis is over. She just loved her camping experience. It is time to move on to a new state and meet some more new friends. Pauline and Theresa have sent Candy on her way to Fort Huachura AZ where she will spend some time with Jan's troop.

October & November
Candy arrived in Fort Huachura AZ where she is spending time with Jan's troop. Candy went to a Halloween Party with Jan's Brownie troop. I hope she wasn't to scared and didn't eat to much candy and snacks! Candy Kisses just loves candy! What a lucky dog she is. Candy is also going to a Juliette Low campfire event. She's having a wonderful time meeting new people and doing so many different things.

December
Candy has arrived in Sagamore Beach MA with Denise's troop. Candy spent time with Denise's troop and is now on her way to Sterling MA to spend some time with Barbara's troop. We are currently hosting May who is Denise's troops mascot. We had May help us make Christmas crafts and sing carols.

January 1997
Candy has arrived in Sterling MA. Jennifer the leaders daughter introduced Candy to her bears - (she has about 50 of them) so Candy shouldn't be lonely. Candy will be going to their troop meeting so that she can meet all the other girl scouts in the troop.

February
Candy is spending some time in Issaquah WA with Jacquie's troop. She has gone rollerskating! Can you imagine a dog on roller skates. Hopefully Candy is behaving herself and having a wonderful time.

March
Virginia Beach VA and spending time with Sallie's troop. Candy will be helping this Brownie troop sell cookies at their cookie booth. She also gets to go to a 'Sounds of Music' workshop. I wonder if she will bring any new songs home with her??

While Sallie's troop has Candy we are hosting their mascot a dolphin called Flipper. Flipper got to help us out at two booth sales and she helped us make S*W*A*P*S for our pen pals. Flipper was also joined by Do Si Do the monkey. What fun they are having.

April
Candy is in Battle Creek MI with Joann's troop. She was taken roller skating - hope she didn't get hurt. Candy also received a tour of the camp Joann's troop will be going to in May. She also helped them complete their kites for the Kite Arch at the Sing A Long on the Mall. What a busy little dog she has been.

May & June
Candy is on her way to Austin TX where she will spend time with Laura's troop. Candy went to the Sing Along with Laura Troop, she also was at a parade in Austin and even went to the National Wild Flower Research center to help the girls do their councils own Wild Flower badge. She got to meet Wrinkles a mascot from another troop while she is there.

July
Soon Candy will be on her way home to Troop 704. We can't wait to have her back and see all the places she has been and the things she has done and the new friends she has made. We are excited and wait for her arrival.

August
Candy has arrived home! We're so glad to see her. Her box is filled with all kinds of wonderful information and pictures etc. Can't wait to go over it all with the girls. Thank you so much to everyone who hosted Candy and made her experience an enjoyable one.
