5 things you can do right now, no matter where you are, to combat stress.
Close your eyes and think of your inner self--that small voice
that speaks to you when you ask yourself things like
"do I really want to do this?" and "should I, or shouldn't I?"
That is your inner self. That is the part of you most wounded by
stress and neglect. Nurture your inner self and you will feel the healing
through out your body.
Really listen to that inner voice and follow what it says when you need
to decide something. Does it tell you that you are taking on too much?
Does it tell you that you really don't want to do or go somewhere?
Then don't go. Trust what your inner self says to you. Trust yourself.
Imagine that your inner self is clouded with stale air.
Breathe in deep and blow the stale air away. Cleanse the dwelling of your
inner self by banishing negative thoughts and self defeating attitudes.
Blow negativity away with the stale air going out of your lungs.
Perform random acts of kindness. Even something as small as giving a compliment to someone around you can make your whole environment brighter. Do it anonymously and it becomes even better.
Count your blessings and thank whom ever you attibute the blessings to have come from. (God, Goddess, Mom, Manitou...)
