11. Peter⁴ DENT (James³, William², Roger¹) was born in Ormsby, Yorkshire, ENG ABT 1600.⁽³³⁹⁾ Peter died 1671 in Guisborough, Yorkshire, ENG, at 71 years of age.⁽³⁴⁰⁾

He married Margaret NICHOLSON in Yorkshire Co., ENG, ABT 1625.⁽³⁴¹⁾ Margaret was born in Hutton, Yorkshire, ENG 1602.⁽³⁴²⁾ Margaret was the daughter of Rev. William NICHOLSON. Margaret died ABT 1674.⁽³⁴³⁾

Peter was listed as a member of the Church of England church.⁽³⁴⁴⁾

Peter DENT and Margaret NICHOLSON had the following children:

Institution: Lambeth.⁽³⁴⁹⁾ Peter's occupation: Professor of Natural Science in Cambridge, ENG, 1680.⁽³⁵⁰⁾ Peter remained in England, and became a member of Trinity College at Cambridge University. He was incorporated at Cambridge in 1680. Peter practiced as a physician and apothecary at Cambridge. He was the first Dent to compile the early Dent history, and recorded the Dent pedigree in 1684, which is now in College of Arms, London, England.
