Know all men by these present that I Mathew Jones of the State and district aforesaid for on in consideration of one hundred and fifty dollars to me in hand paid by Achibald Holtzclaw and Elijah Holtzclaw of the State aforesaid, I do hereby sell and release unto the said Holtzclaws their heirs and assigns forever part of tract of land containing 311 acres it being part of 396 acres granted to John Dempsey the 5th of January 1797 and recorded in grant book .... page 366 and part of a tract of five hundred acres granted to Robert Felps the .. of June 1774 two hundred acres of the tract that was granted to Dempsey and 3 acres that was granted Felps situate in the State and district aforesaid on both sides of Abners Creek waters of Enoree River including the
plantation whereon the said Jones now live begins at a past oak running on Charles Barkers line N.W. to a blackjack corner. Thence N. to a white oak corner William Hendrixs. Thence to said Hendrix line S. to William Hughes line. Thence said Hughes line to the corner. Thence E. on James Hendrix line to the corner. Thence N. E. on John Willsons line to a white oak corner on the branch. Thence down the branch to the creek. Thence down the creek to Joseph Hughes line. Thence N. E. to the hickory corner. Thence N. W. in John Cargiles line to a pine corner. Thence W. to a past oak beginning
corner including all in said boundary to be on hundred and fifty acres more or less. Together with all and singular the ..., members .... and app... thereunto belonging to or appertaining thereto I do hereby bind myself my heirs, executors, administrators to warrant and defend all and singular the above discribed premises unto the said Holtzclaws their heirs and assigns against myself, my heirs and assigns and against any other person or persons lawfully claiming the same or any part thereof.
