beans & peasEAT SOMETHING HEALTHY

Have you heard all those folks who tell you to drink 64 ounces of water a day? I always thought "My Lands! Who on earth could drink that much water!" Well, I tried it . . .

. . . I lost 15 pounds in six weeks.

Honey, I'm drinking water all the time now! I drink it with every meal! I drink it between meals! I drink it instead of a meal! Drink that water, sweetie! ( I've lost five more pounds, too! )

onionGRANNY'S PIZZA CRUST

You Will Need:
  • 2 teaspoons yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 2 and 1/2 cups of flour
  • 1 tablespoon garlic salt
  • 1/4 cup olive oil

    Here's what you do:
  • Dissolve the yeast in 1/4 cup of warm water.
  • Sift the flour and garlic salt in a bowl.
  • Make a little hollow in the flour, and add the yeast mixture, olive oil and the rest of the warm water.
  • Mix gently with your hands until the dough is smooth.
  • On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough for about five to ten minutes. Form the dough into a ball.
  • Put a little bit of oil in another bowl. Roll the dough ball around in the oily bowl.
  • Place the bowl in a warm place for an hour so the dough will rise.
  • When the hour is up, knead the dough for a few minutes.
  • On the floured surface, roll the dough to a thickness of about 1/4 inch.
  • Roll the dough onto the rolling pin.
  • Spray a flat cookie sheet with cooking spray. Sprinkle the sheet with a little corn meal.
  • Unroll the dough onto the cookie sheet.
  • Add tomato sauce, mozzerella cheese and your favorite toppings.
  • Cook your pizza for 10 to 12 minutes at 475 degrees.

  • YUM!

    eggplantGRANNY'S ITALIAN SALAD

This is a simple, easy salad that goes well with pizza and other Italian foods!

    You Will Need:

  • Romano Cheese
  • 1 head Iceberg Lettuce
  • 1 teaspoon of Sesame Seeds
  • Wishbone&trade Italian Dressing

    Here's what you do:
  • In a small pan, toast the sesame seeds -- watch these carefully, they can easily burn -- pretend that they are popcorn.
  • Allow the sesame seeds to cool for at least fifteen minutes.
  • Cut the lettuce into 1/2 inch sections ( I know that everyone tells you to tear lettuce or it will rust, but you are going to be serving this salad immediately and if you tear it the texture is all wrong ).
  • Crumble the sections of lettuce into a bowl.
  • Finely grate the Romano cheese over the salad until it looks like a light fall of snow.
  • Sprinkle the sesame seeds onto the salad.
  • Pour the salad dressing onto the salad, but do not drench it -- a moderate amount of Italian dressing goes a long way.
  • Serve right then!

  • heartJAP's PEANUT BUTTER PIE

    You Will Need:
  • 8oz package of cream cheese
  • 1 cup peanut butter creamy, well blended and creamy
  • 1 Tablespoon of butter
  • 1 Teaspoon of vanilla
  • 1/3 cup of fructose or 1 cup sugar

    Here's what you do:
  • Mix ingredients together in a large bowl until creamy.
  • Fold in 1 cup whipped topping and pour into a graham cracker crust.
  • Top with whipped topping and garnish it if you like.

Honestly, this is one of the best cheesecake variations I've ever tasted -- and I'm not the biggest peanut butter fan. Special thanks to my friend Joyce!
