Mrs. Almyra Hedding wife of David B. Hedding, died Friday evening
at the family residence in Oakley. She was seventy-four years old
last December, Mrs. Hedding had been invalid for several years, but
confined to her bed only few days. Her maiden name was Almyra
Murdock. She was born in New Egypt, N.J., December 14 of 1846 (or
1845) Her parents moved to Illinois when she was a little girl. They
traveled by boat along the coast route to New Orleans, and thence up
the Mississippi and Illinois Rivers and settled in Sangamon County.
The father died of cholera during the ocean trip and was buried at
sea.
Mrs, Hedding was the last of sixteen children to die. Three of her
brothers were killed while serving in the Union Army during the Civil
war. Mrs. Hedding was twice married. She and William Alsbury married
in 1863. He died in 1878. She and David B. Hedding were married in
March 1879. Besides her husband she is survived by a daughter, Mrs
Elliza Sensenbaugh, and two sons, Elmer Hedding of Oakley and Albert
Hedding of Decatur, one step-daughter, Mrs. Simon Hiser of Oakley.
The interment will be in the cross cemetary. Freinds may call at the
residence from 10 to 11o ' clock Tuesday Morning.

Charles Hedding of 1526 East Grand Ave. died suddenly about 9:30
o'clock; Wednesday morning. He had been ill for about two weeks,
suffering from acute indegestion, and that was the cause of his
death. He was thirty-eight years old last January.
Mr. Hedding was born in Farmington, Illinois , January 29, 1889.
He had lived in Decatur since he was three years old and was well
known. He was a member of The Loyal Order of Moose. For a number of
years he was employed by the Faries Manufacturing company and later
by the Chambers Bering & Quinlan Company. owing to falling health
he had not been able to work during the last year. He was the son of
Samuel Hedding. He is survived by three brothers and a sister, Oscar
Hedding of Columbus, O., Walter Hedding of Chicago, Arthur Hedding of
Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs.Joe Bartello of Decatur. The body was
removed to Moran & Sons Funeral directors, and prepared for
burial.

OLD RESIDENT OF OAKLEY IS DEAD
David B. Hedding Yields to Pnuemonia.
Oakley, Feb. 11 -David B. Hedding died Sunday morning at the home
of his son, Elmer Hedding of this place from Pnuemonia, at the age of
seventy-seven years. The funeral will be held at the Oakley church at
11 a.m. Tuesday, with burial in the Cumberland Cemetary one mile east
and one half mile North of Argenta. Dunham Post and G.A.R. of
Decatur, will have charge of the service, followed by other services.

BORN IN PENNSYLVANIA
David Bender Hedding was born December 31, 1816, at Carlisle, Pa;
died Febuary 10, 1924, aged seventy-seven yaers one month, ten days.
On January 26, he married Eliza Colchier. Three children were born,
two dying in infancy. The other Mrs.Ada Hiser, reisdes near Oakley.
Mrs. Hedding died in 1876, and in the spring of 1879 he married
Almyra Alsbury. To this union were born two sons, Elmer Heddding of
Oakley and Albert Hedding of Decatur. Besides the three children Mr.
Hedding leaves one step-daughter, Mrs. E. E. Sensenbaugh of Oakley,
eleven grandchildren, One sister Mrs. Ella Abbott of Oakley, 2
brothers Zacharian Hedding of Marion County, O. and William Hedding
of Canton, O. Mrs. Almyra Hedding dies about four years ago.
CIVIL WAR VETERAN
Mr. Hedding was a veteran of the Civil War, having enlisted at
Marion Co, June 25, 1873, for six months in the Fifth Independant
Battle and renlisted December 25, 1863, serving until the close of
the war in the Co. B, 13th Ohio Cav.. He was a member of the Dunham
Post , G.A.R., Decatur. He was a resident of Oakley for the past
forty-eight years.

ELMER HEDDING, 75, DIES; RITES MONDAY
Elmer Ray Hedding 75, of Oakley dies at 3:35 a.m. yesterday in
the Wabash Employes Hospital where he had been a patient since April
3.
Mr. Hedding a retired laborer for the Wabash, had been with the
company for 47 years.
He wsa born in Oakley April 1, 1883. Son of the late David and
Almyra Hedden. He married Nelli Fay Dawley in Decatur on Nov. 3,
1920.
Mr. Hedding was a member of the A.F. of L Brotherhood of
Maintenance of Way Employees. and the Benefit Assn. of Railroad
Empoyes. He was a member of the United Bretheren Church.
Besides his wife he leaves sons, Elmer, Erie, Pa: John, Oakley;
Harold, Bement; Daughters, Mrs.Helen M. Mast, Decatur; Mrs. Lois M.
Johnson, Decatur; a brother Albert Heddin, Decatur; a half-sister,
Mrs. Ada Hiser, Cerro Gordo; nine grandchildren. Two sons proceeded
him in death.
Funeral services will be at 2:45 p.m. tommorrow in the J.J. Morans
& Sons Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will be in the Cerro Gordo Cemetary. Freinds may call at
the funeral home after 1:15 p.m. today.

Mrs. Nelli e Fay Hedding, 79, of Oakley, died 6:50 p.m., Friday in
the Muirheid Nursing Center 231 E. Condit Street.
Funeral services wil be 1:30p.m. Monday in the J.J. Moran &
Sons Funaerla Home, where friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
Burial will be in the Cerro Gordo Cemetary.
Mrs, Hedding was born in Macon County, Daughter of Newton Clark
and Liilian Jane Thompson Dawley.
Mrs. Hedding was a member of the Oakley Church of Brethren.
She married in Decatur on Nov. 3, 1920 to Elmer Ray Hedding, who
died April 19, 1958.
Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Clifford (Helen) Mast of Decatur and
Mrs. Morris (Lois) Johnson of Forsyth; sons , John L. Hedding of
Decatur and Elmer E. "Gene" and Harold Hedding both of Rockford; 14
grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

Samuel Hedding, 1006 Sangamon street, died at 12 o' clock Friday
night at St. Mary's Hospital. He had been a sufferer from dropsical
trouble for a long time. He was sixty-one years old. He is survuved
by four sons, Oscar and Oscar and Arthur Hedding of Decatur and
Charles and Walter Hedding of Chicago. He also leaves two daughters,
Mrs.Joe Bartlell and Mrs. E. Wallace, both of Decatur. The body was
removed to Moran's undertaking establishment and prepared for burial.
The arragments for the funeral have not been completed.
