You know I loved you...I always will.
You know I would never do anything to harm you.
If I could have watched you every second I would have.
We are all here for such a brief time,
and God put you on earth to make my life so much brighter.
I can take comfort in the fact that you had a good life.
I know you're looking down on me and
trying to tell me you don't blame me.
This guilt I feel will cloud my memories, the good times we had,
the way you used to roll over so I could rub your belly.
I am making a promise to myself that I will shed the guilt and enjoy the memories of you.
I know you don't blame me and you'll be happily wagging your tail to greet me when we meet again.
Because I know you loved me...you always will.
