Why Crate Train your Dog?
I would invest in the crate and crate train your pup for one reason.
If there is ever an emergency, and she HAS to be crated, then she will be used to it. Once she is used to it, she doesn't have to use it all the time.
Many people don't realize it but emergency shelters will not allow animals in (liability, other people being allergic, etc.). God forbid you would ever have to stay in a shelter because of a fire, flood, tornado, hurricane, etc. but if you do and your animals have to be in a crate in another place, if they are familiar with it, it is MUCH less stress to them.
Part of my job is being a wildland firefighter. I've seen first hand the trauma of people who have to leave their pets behind because they have not made arrangements for them such as crates and ways to evacuate them. Maybe you'll never have to use it, but on the 1% chance that you do, it will be a godsend!
May you never have to use the crate for this reason....
