17. Reuben B.⁵ Ballou (Major) (Ezekiel⁴, Obadiah³, James², Maturin¹) was born in Cumberland, RI 11/26/1747. Reuben died 9/19/1803 in Providence, RI, at 55 years of age. His body was interred in Cumberland, RI, Ballou Cemetery.

He married twice. He married Chloe Comstock in Cumberland, RI, 11/29/1767. She was the daughter of Joseph Comstock and Anne unknown. Chloe died 1782 in Cumberland, RI. He married Freelove Whipple 1/30/1787. Freelove was born in Cumberland, RI 9/24/1758. Freelove died 10/22/1823 in Providence, RI, at 65 years of age.

Reuben B. Ballou (Major) and Chloe Comstock had the following children:

18 i. George⁶ Ballou was born in Cumberland, RI 6/20/1768. George died 10/17/1824 in Cumberland, RI, at 56 years of age. He married Anna Bartlett in Cumberland, RI, 9/12/1794. Anna was born in Gloucester, RI 9/19/1763. Anna died 11/8/1850 at 87 years of age.

19 ii. Sina Ballou was born in Cumberland, RI 1/9/1770. Sina died 1841 in Mendon, MA. She married twice. She married Cyrenius Rawson. Cyrenius was born in Mendon, MA 12/12/1764. He was the son of Edward Rawson and Sarah Sadler. Cyrenius died 1/27/1806 in Mendon, MA, at 41 years of age. (See Cyrenius Rawson for the continuation of this line.) She married Silas Cook in Pelham, MA, 3/9/1816. Silas was born in Cumberland, RI 3/23/1753. Silas died 2/12/1842 in Pelham, MA, at 88 years of age.

20 iii. Reuben Ballou Jr. was born in Cumberland, RI 8/24/1775. Reuben died 6/16/1787 in Cumberland, RI, at 11 years of age.

21 iv. Anne Ballou was born in Cumberland, RI 6/22/1778. Anne died 1/22/1855 in Weymouth, MA or Smithfield, RI, at 76 years of age. She married Daniel Paine.

22 v. Chloe Ballou was born in Cumberland, RI 1781. Chloe died 1872 in Boonville, NY. She married Levin Jillson 7/2/1802. Levin was born in Cumberland, RI 11/1/1784. Levin died 7/22/1852 in Boonville, NY, at 67 years of age.

23 vi. John William Ballou was born in Providence, RI 11/25/1785. John died 11/14/1856 in Providence, RI, at 70 years of age. He married Sally Smith. Sally was born in Smithfield, RI 7/20/1790. Sally died 10/5/1877 at 87 years of age.

Reuben B. Ballou (Major) and Freelove Whipple had the following children:

24 vii. Lavina Ballou was born in Providence, RI 12/26/1787. She married James Jones.

25 viii. Nathan Ballou was born in Providence, RI 1790. Nathan died 8/18/1792.
