The Date: September, 1998 The Places: Alamogordo, New Mexico & White Sands Nat'l Monument The Job: "Clean-up Crew" for the "Balloon Fiesta" |
When it comes to "Service Projects, this one has to be one of our favorites. We were asked to clean-up after the spectators and ballonists of the "Balloon Fiesta". The areas to be cleaned were the Alamogordo Soccer Complex, Alamogordo Sr. High Stadium, (After the Balloon Glow), and at White Sands National Monument. During the first day, the Crew of the "Still Crazy", was offering free rides to spectators at the Soccer Complex. This was great! Any Scout who wanted a ride, got one! We want to say "Thanks" to the Pilot, and crew, for such an opportunity. They all had a BLAST! |

First the clean-up! Here the Scouts are finishing up after picking up trash in the parking lot of the Soccer Complex. The fans were great...very little garbage was found and collected. |
Next the FUN! This picture was taken from inside the "Still Crazy", by our Assistant Scoutmaster, "Buffy", as she was lifting into the air. | ![]() |
