Crafts
If you have any great holiday craft ideas
and you'd like to share them, please e-mail
me and I'd love to add them to this page!
Christmas Bell- This wonderful
craft came from my dear friend in Ohio. Thank you for the great idea. Our
Brownie troop is going to make these at our Holiday Party! On a piece
of construction paper, cut a bell big enough to fit poem on to. Write
poem on to bell:
Each
night before Christmas,
After prayers have been said,
Take off one loop,
And
hop into bed.
When
Christmas will come,
Tis
easy to tell,
For
that is the night,
You
come to the bell!
Cut out 12 strips, about
1 1/2 to 2 inches wide, of construction paper for each bell that you are
making. At the bottom of the bell make a slit big enough to run a
strip of construction paper through. Continue making 11 more loops and
glue or tape to form a chain. There should be 12 loops all together.
This signifies the 12 days of Christmas.
Popsicle Reindeer-
What
you need: 3 popsicle or craft sticks for each reindeer
2 jiggely eyes for each reindeer
1
small red pom-pom for each reindeer
1
brown chenille stem or pipecleaner
piece
of 1/4 inch ribbon for hanger
tacky
glue or hot glue gun, only if adult is using it!
Glue the 3 sticks into
a triangle. Cut the chenille stem in half and wrap around one of
the sticks to form 2 antlers. You can add small pieces to make more points
on the antlers. Glue the eyes in place on the 2 side sticks and the
nose at the point at the bottom. Your triangle should be pointing
down to resemble a reindeer head. After all is good and dry, tie
ribbon inbetween the antlers, so that you can hang on your tree!
Rudolphs Face- We are going to have my daughter's 1st grade class make
this for their Holiday party this year!
What you need:
2
or 3 pieces of construction paper for each reindeer
2
large jiggely eyes or buttons for each reindeer
1
large red pom-pom for each reindeer
black
marker or black yarn for mouth
glue
For the head: Trace around
one foot (leave sock on!) on a sheet of construction paper and cut out. For
the antlers: Trace around both hands on another sheet of construction paper
and cut out. Attach antlers to back of reindeer head with glue,
where the toes are. Add eyes or buttons and then a pom-pom
near the heel for the nose. Under the nose, either draw a mouth with
black marker or glue a small piece of yarn to paper for the mouth. You
can add a ribbon on the back, so that you can hand this if you want.
