Roy was my father-in-law for over
21 years, I say this with pride, because a finer man
you will never meet! He was always pleasant, polite,
and above all sincere! He had a way of making you
feel comfortable. And you always knew that he meant whatever
he said to you. He was very insightful, and I
relied on his wisdom on many ocassions! When we found
out that he had Leukemia at first it seemed like
it must be a mistake, this was not supposed
to happen to him. And through it all, until the
end I don't think that any of us expected him to die!
He struggled with this terrible disease for over 3 years.
Because of his age, he was in his 70's, a
lot of treatment options were not available to him.
And yet he fought with a passion to live that could
only be admired. I never once heard him say why me.
He wanted to live, he had a wife to take care of,
a home to keep up, 2 grown sons to enjoy
and a grand daughter and great grandchildren to watch grow
up! But I belive that they needed a special angel
in Heaven. Someone with his sincere kindness has a special
place there I truly belive. I know that we will
all meet again, and pick up where we left off
and it will be a joyous occasion.
