John Sarrett was born in 1760 in Caswell Co., North Carolina. He was a volunteer soldier in the war of the revolution.
He left North Carolina and moved to Tennessee between 1802-1807, first to Smith Co., TN,then by 1810 in Rutherford Co., TN, next to Davidson Co., TN by 1819 and finally settling in Humphrey's Co., TN by 1820.
He remained in Humphrey's County until his death on Sept. 7, 1834.
He left a widow, Mary (McMurry) Sarrett and nine children.
