My cup fell on the rug.
But I already cleaned it up.
I used this big white jug."
Dear Lord, that's my bleach!
"Mommy, look at my new toy!
I think you call these clippers.
They make a noise and take off hair-
See what I did to Slippers?"
Dear Lord, he shaved the cat!
I find my son's Picasso art
Spread all across the wall.
Where did he get his finger paint?
He has none, I recall.
Dear Lord, not the grape jelly!
Birthday parties are great fun,
So Tommy plans his own.
Three friends show up with gifts in hand.
To Mom, the plan's unknown!
Dear Lord, Tommy's birthday is four months away!
Where, oh Where is Tommy now?
He hasn't made a peep.
How relieved to find him safe
Behind the couch asleep.
Dear Lord, I love this innocent-looking child!
Lord, you hear my prayers each day,
My cries, my pleas, my praise.
As mother, referee, nurse, maid,
Guide me in all ways.
