Note: This Ealdorman witnessed charters from 901 to an undetermined date past 924. He had to obtain re-grants or confirmations from King Edward respecting his estates at Risborough in Buckinghamshire and Wrington in Somerset, beause his title papers had been destroyed by fire. Stated in Risborough charter that the property had previously been given by Aethelwulf to his daughter Aethelgyth; the wife of Aethelhelm and mother of Aethelfrith. Aethelfrith was an Ealdorman with Mercian associations, but holding lands principally in Wessex. His wife and/or partner is not known.
