1790 and 1800 Censuses of Kentucky
The 1790 and 1800 federal censuses of KY were either destroyed when
Washington was burned by the British during the war of 1812 or were
not extant when the clerks of the several district and superior
courts were directed to send the early schedules to the Secretary of
State. Thus the names were copied from tax lists housed in the Archives
of the Kentucky Historical Society and constitute a privately compiled
list of taxpayers in the 42 counties of Kentucky in 1800.

I think that this is the Drury b. 1785, "thought" to
be the son of Thomas Jr, & grandson of Thomas b. 1741
of Franklin Co, GA, and nephew of the above John
Harrington. Since this Drury does not appear in the
1820 Kentucky census that would fit in with the data
which showed that Drury moving back to Georgia by
1820 and then on to Arkansas by 1822. But one wonders
why he would go to Kentucky with an uncle rather than
to Mississippi with the elder Thomas? So...perhaps
this Drury was a SON of John instead of a nephew. This
needs sorting out. I haven't found anything conclusive
yet on the exact relationships.
* This couldn't be the Drury Harrington who received
1767 land grant Lancaster Co, SC. due to the ages.
That one would have had to have been born by about
1748 whereas the one above wasn't born until after 1765.
* It doesn't seem likely this could be the Drury Harrington
who died 1813 Lincoln Co, GA because that one received
a land grant 1807 in Lincoln Co, GA. and his daughter
Polly married 1808 Lincoln Co, GA in 1808, the evidence
seeming to place him in Lincoln Co, GA in 1810.

William Harrington m. Arabella Gray

NOTE: To Washington County, Texas by 1826
Elisha Harrington m. Elizabeth Heigs 10 May 1817
NOTE: The marriage dates of these Harrington males would
tend to indicate they were born circa 1790-1798.
Perhaps they were sons of John Harrington who was
enumerated in the 1810 census with sons living at
home who could fit the timeframe for these post 1810
marriages.
