what is now Marion and Walthall counties. Ralph owned China Grove
& built a cotton gin & press in that community, across Magee's Creek
just south of China Grove in Pike Co. This appears to be not far from
Tylertown in present day Walthall County, near the Marion County line.
Ralph patented land in Walthall in Sept 1834. In 1840 he moved north
up the Pearl River to Hinds County, where he patented around 200 acres
land by Dec 1840.
