Dayton, Ohio won the All-America City Award
in 1951, 1977-78, and 1991.

Ten cities are selected each year by a team of civic experts selected by the National Civic League and are honored for "effectively addressing their most critical challenges through the collaborative efforts of citizens, nonprofit organizations, government, businesses and community-based groups."

In 1991, Dayton won for three projects:  "Reclaiming a Safe and Healthy Environment," "Taking Back the Neighborhoods," and "Mobilizing Resources for Affordable Housing."
