"Yes, Really . . ."

Dear God,

  I believe you sent Jesus Christ so that I might not perish but have eternal life.  I confess to You that I am a sinner and that I need to believe in the Lord Jesus to be saved -- there is no other way.  And because the Bible says so, I believe You did indeed raise Jesus Christ from the dead just as I hope You will raise me from the dead when I die.    I believe that you love me, love me so much, in fact, that you sent your only begotten Son for me.

    Thank you, God, for hearing me.  Thank you for forgiving me of ALL my sins.  But most of all, thank you for giving me eternal life.  Help me, I pray, to live the kind of life that will bring glory and honor to Your holy name; to learn all that Jesus taught, and to share the good news which I have today accepted.

    In Jesus name I believe and pray these things . . . Amen.

    Dear Friend, if you just prayed that prayer, and really meant it, you now have eternal life!  CONGRATULATIONS!!  Your sins have been wiped away!  You are, in the words of the Apostle Paul, a new creation:   "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! (2 Corinthians 5:17)

      And now that you have started your life anew, you will no doubt want to share your good news with someone else.  Who would enjoy hearing the good news that YOU have become a Christian?  Your spouse?  A parent?  A friend?

    Let me also encourage you to share your decision with the pastor of a local, Bible-believing congregation.  He will be more than happy to help you begin to live the Christian life as a fellow member of the Kingdom of God!
