William Calvin Cooley
        William Calvin Cooley was born about 1863 in Tennessee as stated in the 1880 census report of Benton County, Tennessee. It is unknown who his mother and father was. The only reference to a parent was that his mother's name was Nancy Cooley.

        William Calvin married Mary Lou Farmer, daughter of Jackson and Temperance Melton Farmer, on the 19th of September 1886. They were the parents of 12 children with 7 living to maturity. They lived in the 7th district of Benton County, Tennessee in the community of Harmons Creek. They farmed and raised their family to become upstanding citizens in the community. All of the children married and stayed in Benton County.

        William Edward, b. December 5, 1890 married Lou Gather Melton

        Maude, b. 1892 married Grover Melton

        Savannah Temperance, b 1900 married Richard Wheatley and later Henry Phifer

        Alice, b. 1903 married Granville Melton

        Essie Ora, b. 1905 married Horace Blake Holland.

        William Calvin Cooley, known by all who knew him as "Uncle Bill" died December 1932 and Mary Lou Farmer Cooley, died in 1927. Both are laid to rest at the Farmer Cemetery in the Harmons Creek Community of Benton County, Tennessee.
