Dimensions In Dollmaking
August 8-9-10, 1997
The Imitation of Life Construction Company (IOLCC) invites you to participate in their 7th
annual doll exhibit. It will be held in conjunction with the San Diego Quilt Show at the
San Diego Convention Center. Our goal is to bring the diversity and creativity of doll
making to the general public with an exhibit that presents the limitless possibilities offered
by many mediums. Our exhibit consists of original, one-of-a-kind dolls and includes both
national and international doll artists. This event is featured in local TV newscasts and
national doll publications. Your doll will be photographed (slides) and may be used to
advertise or promote this event and you as a dollmaker, artist or teacher.
Entry Criteria:
- Dolls must be made of fabric. Polymer clays, paper clays or similar medium may be
used for heads, hands and/or feet.
- Dolls must be original, one-of-a-kind - molds or castings are not acceptable.
- Dolls must be of human form. Animalistic figures are acceptable as long as they appear
human and are engaged in human activities.
- Dolls should be provided with stands or props for display.
- Fee of $8.00 per entry with a maximum of two entries.
- Dolls may be photographed and used in promoting this exhibit and your artistry.
Time Lines:
- May 30 - Promise to Participate and $8.00 per entry fee due.
- July 30 - Dolls and Exhibit Form due.
- August 8-10 - Dimensions in Dollmaking and San Diego Quilt Show at San Diego
