MAINE!

~The Way Life Should Be~

Ben and I just returned from a 1900 mile trip to Maine. Although we've been before, we wanted to go again. Like many people, we love the rocky coastline, the picturesque lighthouses, the lobsters! We spent most of our time along the coast, but we did get adventuresome and drive to Moosehead Lake. Moosehead Lake is in Maine's North Country and the views are awesome. Hope you enjoy the photos.

The Margaret Todd Before we sailed! Volunteers helped to raise the sails!

The Margaret Todd is a four-masted, 151' Schooner. We went for a 2 1/2 hour sail among the islands of Frenchman's Bay, where we watched lobstermen hauling their traps, saw seals, and watched porpoises play.

The picture on the left is the summer home of George and Barbra Bush (Kennebunkport). The picture on the right is the harbor at Camden.

The Rocky Coast At Bar Harbor

Head Light lighthouse in Portland, ME, is one of the most photographed in America. Ben and I were there along with the remnants of hurricane Bonnie. Fog rolling in from the ocean caused the fog horn to sent periodic warnings. Even though we viewed the lighthouse in August, I wore my jacket.

We visit Bar Harbor's Acadia National Park and I snap Ben's picture!
