The Ashlock family was in Anderson County, Tn very early. Here are several accounts of their being in the county through court documents.
January 15th 1812.
John Hoskins and George Hoskins came into court and executed their bond as securities for Rebecca Ashlock, to keep the county from being at any expense or charges for a bastard child she has.
October 13th, 1813
Rebecca Ashlock VS Jesse Hoskins.
On motion of the plaintiff by her attoy, ordered by the court that said Rebecca Ashlock be allowed twenty dollars per year to be paid quarterly by Jessee Hoskins for the term of five years commencing from the trial that a certain child was born of Rebecca Ashlock begotten on her body by said Jesse Hoskins, and that said Allow and be paid into the hands of William Ashlock and that said Hoskins pay all costs that have occured in this case.
Monday April 14th 1817
Michael Spessard entered into bond with security to keep a child becoming a county charge begotten by him on the body of Rebecca Ashlock
April 14th 1817.
Wm. Ashlock entered into bond with security to keep a child from becoming a county charge begotten by him on the body of Anna Campbell.
January 12th 1818.
The last will and testament of Wm. Ashlock was proved in open court by Ann Campbell and Allet Ashlock and ordered to be recorded.
April 13th 1818
Ordered that Obidiah Ashlock be appointed guardian for John & Josiah Ashlock minor and children of Wm Ashlock deceased who entered into bond.

James Ashlock enters one hundred acres of land in said county, beginning on a black oak on the south side of the black oak ridge and running over the waters of Poplar Creek, thence various courses to the best advantae to the beginning. Signed James Ashlock
As you can see, the first three children of Rebecca Ashlock, belonged to two different men. These men were VERY prominent men of the county.
